I was born in Porto and have lived in front of the beach since I can remember. I tried surfing when I was 12, since then I’ve never stopped surfing for longer than a month. I started to compete in the national and regional competitions in 1998 and started to teach in 2004, since then I’ve worked in more that 6 surf schools in Portugal and 3 internationally (Australia, Brazil and Mexico).

Before I started as a surf teacher I worked as a life guard but quickly found out that teaching was my passion, now a days I’m a Master in Physical Activities and Health and specialized my final thesis in surfing and life-styles. So basically surfing and teaching are my biggest passion in life. Now that I’m finished with my studies I have decided to start the Surfers Camp project so I can pass on the pleasure of surfing and living a relaxed, free and healthy life to others, using the beautiful beaches of my country as class rooms.

Throughout my life as a surfer I was lucky enough to travel and surf in locations like Indonesia, Australia, Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Mexico, Morocco and Spain were I learned how to improve my surfing and to give value to the quality of waves, nature and life style that is possible to have in Portugal.

My favorite waves here in the north coast are Espinho, Maceda, Leça and a few sand banks that occasionally get really good in Esmoriz (because there is almost no crowd in the water). I can speak and write fluent English, I speak some Spanish and a bit of French.
